television history

i’ve been trying to explain this sketch to people for years

there is literally no way to explain this sketch it’s just a thing you have to see and even then I’m not sure why it’s so funny

theliterarybreaker asked:

Have you ever gotten a bout of existentialism crisis in your field of study? I'm studying for being a psychologist, and I remember getting one heck of a crisis while studying Carl Jung. In your case, investigating the human consciousness... Have you reached that deep, scary part? Or this blog desensitized you?

sixpenceee answered:

Well I’m currently investigating “thoughts” and how they work

I’ve asked neuroscientists at my lab and they’ve replied “when a neuron fires in the brain it does so because of sensory input from other neurons”

But thought doesn’t always require sensory input. I could think “I need to call my friend right now” without my friend or any reminders of him being there.

So in that case, which neuron fires first to lead to that thought? And what is this force that stimulates it?

kukitti asked:

I have a sugar glider (sort of like a flying squirrel, unique because it bonds to its owners) and when you're bonding it helps to have them sleep near you and to hear your voice so their more comfortable with you. i didn't know what to read so i read him the stories you post. im an awful person tbh

sixpenceee answered:

wait you sleep with your squirrel

kukitti:

it’s not a squirrel, but kinda like one!
and no, he’s nocturnal, so he sleeps in a little pouch (like a kangaroo i guess lol) on my chest, or in a pocket if im wearing one!

that’s soooo cute, give me 20

Begotten (1990)
If you are looking for an experimental horror film to watch, go for this one if you can stomach it. It re-imagines the story of Genesis. The story opens with a robed, profusely bleeding “God” disemboweling himself, with the act ultimately ending in his death. It’s in black and white and has absolutely no dialogue. The words “experimental horror” are the best way to describe this film.

If you are looking for the most amazing zombie apocalypse movie, then I recommend World War Z.
A while back, I actually went in the theaters to see the Conjuring but forgot my ID so settled for World War Z.
Best mistake of my life.
This movie has a way of making you forget about all your problems and for an entire 2 hours and 3 minutes, the only thought that occupies your mind is OH SNAP. The action, the suspense, and the entire plot was excellent.
Overall a fantastic movie.
